Beaujolais
Fleurie
The village of Fleuri is between Macon and Villefranche. The most feminine
of Beaujolais. It is tender and fruity with the gammay grape. When young
this wine overflows with flavours of fresh grapes. The annual production
of this wine is 35000 hectolitres from 800 hectares. This wine should
not be kept for a long period, store at 15°C and drink it when young at
the same temperature. If you can visit the village there are many good
places to taste the wine such as the Co-operative.
An important meeting each year, on the first Saturday after the 1st of
November, is the International Market of great Beaujolais wines.
