There are a various structures for companies in France, each
being adapted to the size and reason of the companies existance.
Common company structures
- E.I. "Entreprise individuelle" is a One-Man Business
- E.U.R.L."Entreprise Unipersonnelle à Responsabilité Limitée which is a Private Limited Company under Sole Ownership
- S.A.R.L. "Société à Responsabilité Limitée" which is a Limited Liability Company
Within the above mentionned types of companies, there are also various types, depending on the
activity. There are legal definitions concerning which type is imposed up on the company or person.
- Artisan, generally craftsmen. No more than 10 employees
- Libéral, generally Doctors, Lawyers or consultants
- Commerçant, generally tradesmen
