Museums in France

France is a country with roots deep in history, there are museums throughout the country, not only in Paris where there are some of the greatest museums in the world, but also hidden in small villages, towns and the countryside. Paintings from the greatest artist, to small collections of traditional farming tools, prehistoric caves, volcanos, racing cars and even fire engines.

Many museums will be closed on Tuesdays. There are 2 national open days where most of the museums are open to the public for free.
