Pollution here is a personification.

The mixed us is to emphasize on "us".
In others words, the "nous" in the french slogan is optional.
It is like to say:

I was taught that one use of "on" was to replace "nous" in informal speech, and that both words should not be used in the same sentence. But recently, I saw an advertising slogan for the Paris M�tro that mixes them together:

Voil� ce qu'on lui dit nous, � la pollution
Here is what we say to him, to pollution ( ?????)

Can someone explain what it really says and why "on" and "nous" are mixed together.

Hi, I was wondering if any of you could help me with information on the city of Le Havre? I would like to know because my friend recently started hosting a French native from Le Havre at her house for a semester of American schooling� I would ask her about Le Havre, but I cannot speak French and she can barely speak English >.
I have looked on sites like wikipedia and googled the city for results, but those sites can only tell you so much and it is usually about how the city was damaged during WWII and then rebuilt by Auguste Perret, or the location of the city in France. I would like to know if anyone could help me know (provide me with an insight on) what the people are like there? I know everyone is different, but if it�s possible (meaning no offense) could I get a generalization? I was also wondering what the houses were typically like and the landscape in and around Le Havre�

Some examples of what I mean/would like to know (in case I didn�t explain myself well enough--- if you can�t tell, I�m not very good at explanations of basically anything^.^!)

- a description of the art installation over the grand pergola of the hotel-de-ville (in your own words, like what you think of it� if you have an opinion, like, dislike, love, hate, ugly, beautiful etc.�). I�ve seen pictures, and gotten this description:

"The impressionist eye is here articulated in a basic palette of five colours distributed across thousands of strands of thin Christmas balls. Mimicking the opportunistic wisteria and its voracious pursuit of light, these strands shall invade the bare patches of the grand pergola at Le Havre's Hotel-de-ville. But I would like other people�s opinion on it.

- what the people are �typically� like there. I know my asking this question may seem stupid because it probably can�t be answered, but I was just wondering what you think of the people there from your experience in the city or living/having lived there, what you see around you, how people interact with each other� keep to themselves, kind, happy, solemn� with their community� the tourists that come over on cruise ships� things like that� >.<

- how the houses are built, I have seen a couple pictures of the city, but that can�t possibly compare to a person�s eye view. Like are they built closely together, wall-to-wall or spaced farther apart. Front yards? Back yards? Steps? Roof shape? Chimneys? One story, two story, three? A lot of apartment complexes? It probably depends on what part of town you�re in (I don�t know), but information on all over Le Havre would be pretty sweet^^

- the landscape� I guess there�s a lot of cement?;) Like I have seen pictures of the skate park there (a lot of pretty sweet graffiti) and some other places� like the opera house and a cemetery� are the houses close to these places? Like the skate park, cemeteries, opera house, churches? Or are they far away? Do people there drive a lot or not really?

I hope that helped explain better what I mean� any help at all is much appreciated and uhm, it would be really cool to possibly correspond with someone who lives or has lived in Le Havre and I hope I didn�t offend anyone or anything by my asking� :S� and I apologize for my ignorance:)
